Site Creation (BUILDSITE)

This section shows the necessary steps for Site Creation or Site Building.

After the ticket completion on the Open column, tickets are placed on Begin Work. Tickets located in this column are basically tickets that are ready for site creation.

Before building the client’s site, a staff should set an assignee to a ticket before proceeding with the next steps. Go to the Assignee section > Click Assign to me if you would like the ticket to be assigned to you or click on the Unassigned option and type the name of the staff that you want to be the assignee of the ticket.

Kindly move the ticket block from Begin Work to Build Site column before starting the Site creation.

The Branded Sites team offer different templates to our clients. The current templates we have are as follows:

1. http://www.therinageistteam.com/ - Homepage B

2. https://juefeng-ge-xlze.squarespace.com/ - Homepage C

3. https://juefeng-ge-ts3x.squarespace.com/ - Homepage D

Although we offer three different templates, the team uses the Homepage C as the initial draft design template for all new clients. That is why the Homepage C will be our base template for this module.

To start, go to the Squarespace account to search for Empty Sites. You can use this login credentials:

Username: juefengge@ylopo.com

Password: Ylopo*2018

Or, you can also check this list of Empty Sites that is currently being used by the team. Pick one link from the list and open it on the tab where you are currently logged in using the credentials above. (Please don’t forget to highlight the link that you chose on the spreadsheet in red color to avoid confusion between members)

This is how an empty Homepage C template looks like:

The logo and verbiage on the site are defaulted. These are the things that we need to change to incorporate the branding of the client.

The first thing to do when building a site is to enable the SquarespaceWebsites Tools PRO extension. This helps users to copy the data of a specific page or section on a site and allows to create the same data to the same or another website.

On the Ylopo Browser, look for the green icon at the upper right corner, click the icon and choose to “Enable Extension”.

Once successful, the widget should look like this:

After enabling the extension, it is now time to gather all the client details from the SQR ticket. For an instance, let’s have this ticket:

https://ylopollc.atlassian.net/browse/SQR-880

Open the page and Scroll below and look for Attachments.

Download all attachments provided by the client on your computer as you will be using them to complete the site.

Next on the SQR ticket, look for the Home Search Website and open the links provided.

Check the logo used on the home search site. There are instances where the same logo is used on both Header and Footer section of the site but there are also websites that use a different logo on these sections. It is recommended to set up the logo similar to how it was set up on the Home Search site.

First Step - Logo & Title

To add the title, logo, and Favicon of the site, go to Design > Logo & Title

The site title is basically the Main Client’s name indicated on the Jira Ticket. The logo to be uploaded on the Logo image option is the logo placed on the header section found on the Home Search site (Please refer to the images uploaded on the Jira ticket too)

Note: For the Favicon, it is recommended to use the logo of the client’s own team/group instead of the brokerage logo.

Second Step - Business Info and SEO description

To add the Business information on the site, go to SETTINGS > GENERAL >  BUSINESS INFORMATION

Use the information highlighted on the Screenshot below from Jira to the Business Information settings of the site. These information will be displayed on the footer and Contact Us section of the homepage and also on the individual Contact Us page.

Copy the details from the Jira ticket and paste it on the Business Information settings of the site.

(Part 1 -  Business Name, Business Address, Phone and Email)

Note: The email address is not always provided on the Jira ticket. If this is the case, please use the main client’s email address.

(Part 2 - Physical Location)

The map must populate the Business Physical location once the address was added to it, or else we will not be able to update the maps placed on specific sections of the site.

(Part 3 - Business Hours)

Please be reminded that Business Hours should be specified using plain text, like

8am - 5pm

8am - 5pm, 7pm - 11pm

10pm - 3am

Open

All Day

08:00 - 13:00, 17:00 - 23:00

Next, is the SEO Description. Go back to SETTINGS > WEBSITE >  SEO

Change the Company Name and the Primary City of the description. The Company Name and Primary city are specified on the Jira ticket. Please see sample below:

After you set this up, we can now proceed with editing the main pages of the site.

PAGES

If you are donesetting up the pages above, continue reading below:

OTHER PAGES

The pages highlighted on the screenshot below are injected, thus we don’t have to apply any changes to these during the initial draft site stage. (Changes will only be applied on the SITE UPDATE depending on client request)

-----------------

Now we’re almost done setting up the pages of the client’s Branded site. The last thing we need to do is add the Code Injection (as mentioned above).

First, go to the home search site widgets page and copy the Script Configuration code.

Then on the Squarespace site, go back to the site’s main category and click SETTINGS:

On the Settings > Under Website click Advanced.

Under Advanced > Go to Code Injection.

Paste the code you’ve copied from the home search site to the Header section of the Code Injection. Then hit SAVE.

Check the site to see if the listings are already populating

If yes, congratulations! You just finished creating your first Branded Site!

Site Updates

Clients frequently provide only the CS team or the Squarespace team with an information change.  For the following types of information, please be sure to ALWAYS notify the other team (CS team) if you encounter:

  1. Change of logo or realtor photo

  2. Change of contact information (display name, phone, email address) for account holder

  3. Add/removal of team members, including lender partner

  4. Change in advertising areas or featured communities. (This should also be shared with marketing by CS.)
